About This Project

Lower Lea Valley, London Boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets

DESCRIPTION

Stuck in the Middle refers to Poplar in east London, a place surrounded by immense opportunity and about to be unlocked by a wave of investment and change. Leaside Planning Ltd produced the document ( Stuck in the Middle – The Poplar Riverside and Poplar Opportunity Areas) to identify key regeneration opportunities and propose a mechanism to manage their efficient and proper delivery. The document was used as the basis for establishing the Joint Programme Board – a quarterly meeting of the local authorities, the GLA, the London Legacy Development Corporation, Transport for London, and the largest landowner, Poplar HARCA. The document was also used as the basis for establishing the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Poplar Riverside Housing Zone, and the GLAs Isle of Dogs Opportunity Area Planning Framework.
